A Dim Light of Hope

Iceshadow rushed into the Leader's den, panting. "Cloudstar... Attack.." Not wanting to alarm his Father, though the tom didn't do so much as look at him, he collected himself. "I mean, with StellarClan and DuskClan." He waited for a response, but heavy silence filled the room. "Cloudstar?" He asked again. In the gloom, Iceshadow could see two vibrant blue eyes slowly open. Heaving out a sigh of relief, he continued. "StellarClan and DuskClan are fighting again." He meowed, hoping that his father would actually reply this time.

The old leader opened his mouth, then closed it, as if rethinking of what he wanted to say. "Why?" He rasped, and Iceshadow looked at his father in surprise. Had his leader also gotten his memory swipe, a side affect from Snowfall's death?

"Well, uh-" The young warrior stuttered, not knowing how to react to that. "Well, I suppose DuskClan or StellarClan wants something that the other Clan has." He meowed, his expression thoughtful.

Cloudstar tilted his head. "Such a petty argument." He then turned his back on his son, and curled his tail over his nose, returning back to sleep.

Iceshadow stood, stunned at what his father had become. Will he ever come back? Will he ever resurface from the darkness that has engulfed him?

~*~
Iceshadow stood in Fallenpath's den, with Goldenbreeze flanked at his side. "Cloudstar isn't doing any better. He still hasn't gotten over my-" He blinked his eyes in sadness. "My mother's passing. Isn't there anything you could do for him? The Clan is getting suspicious... And he still hasn't made up his mind on whether we are leaving or not."

Fallenpath looked up from where she was organizing the herb store. "I'm sorry, but there is no herb that helps you forget... All we have to do is give Cloudstar time."

"But there isn't enough time! The rogues only gave us-" Fallenpath held her tail up to quiet Iceshadow.

"Yes. I know." She turned towards Goldenbreeze. "Cloudstar isn't in the right state to make these kinds of decisions. I know that you're just the deputy, but right now, you must act like the leader that Cloudstar cannot. You must make the decision." The she-cat remained her gaze, though Iceshadow could tell that she was as frightened as him.

Goldenbreeze let out a breath. "I-I know... It's just that... I kept on telling myself that I wasn't ready, and that Cloudstar should still make the decision. But I guess.. I guess that it is time." She nodded her head. "OakClan will never back down." Goldenbreeze meowed, as if she had already knew what she was going to say. "When the time comes, we will face the rogues."

(Omigosh I am so sorry! I am a horrible blogger ;_; Bwah D8 But, here is the post!~ So just pretend that Goldenbreeze made a clan meeting and told the Clan that preparations for the battle will begin immediately. Which means we need our dens to be rebuilt, fresh-kill pile stocked, and battle training to be doubled. Alright? Go!)

  1. [You're not a horrible blogger, I mean, I didn't make a new post for a month? Everyone has just been busy.]

Face the rogues? Stoneheart frowned. It was better than leaving, his friend didn't have energy to eat, much less energy to move camp.

Snowpaw and Firekit were whispering to each other. It was one of the few times that they were speaking and claws weren't being unsheathed.

  2. (You're not a horrible blogger, W101 :) I agree with Alado, we've all just been busy.)

Fallenpath sighed. Low on marigold. She'd need it, especially for the coming battle against the rogues. The little calico she-cat streaked out of the medicine den and into the forest.

  3. (You're not a bad blogger W101! We're all just busy with school and stuff!)

Goldenbreeze padded over to Stoneheart. "Can you lead a hunting patrol to gather some prey?" She asked. The clan really needed prey. "If you do go, just take two more cats with you," she added. As much as Goldenbreeze worried about being the 'leader' for now, she knew that the clan would need her to help them. Until Cloudstar recovers.. what if he never does?

Stormfang's ears perked to Stoneheart. He padded over to him and Goldenbreeze. "I can come with you," he offered in a friendly tone.

Dragonpaw sat in the shade of a tree, while his amber eyes gazed from the one side of the clearing to the next. Would OakClan survive another battle against rouges?!

  4. (Thank you everyone ^_^ I'm glad to have such fantastic people as friends :3)

Iceshadow sighed. He could tell everyone was worried, and that they were having their doubts about the upcoming battle. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. Dear StarClan... Please be with us for these next sunrises... Our Clan needs our leader now more than ever. Why can't you make him return? He thought sadly, a frown forming on his face as he recalled his conversation with Cloudstar. If only I could bring him out of the darkness that has consumed him... Like a good son would do! He started to bash himself, though it just made the pit of worry in his stomach grow bigger.

  5. (Wait, what do you mean, Cloudstar has been engulfed in darkness?? Was is because Iceshadow's mother died, or something? And uh... what rogues? ;-; I'm really confused right now)

  6. (Oh, Echospots, I left an explanation in the C-box. ^^ Oh, and Stella, is it okay if Iceshadow follows you? I didn't know if you were meeting with Coldpaw or not.)

Iceshadow sensed movement coming from the far-side of the clearing, and saw Fallenpath streak into the forest. Probably out to go collect herbs... She has been doing all of the preparations on her own lately... Maybe I should ask Goldenbreeze to assign her an apprentice? No... They need as much battle training as they need. I'll go see if I can help. He headed for the entrance, much more slowly than she had, and began to track her through the forest.

  7. (Sure, that'll add suspense :P)

Fallenpath scented the air, searching for herbs, but instead a familiar Duskclan scent tickled her nose. Coldpaw! she thought, and trotted faster, unaware that she was being followed.

  8. (Okay ^^ Do you want him to see them? He doesn't if you don't want to.)

Iceshadow pricked his ears in surprise, wondering why the newly named Medicine Cat had increased her speed. Not thinking too much about it, he went into a slow trot, and continued to follow her.

  10. (I'm so sorry i haven't been on!Do you want me to rp Coldpaw here?)

Mistyfur looked at the clan's kits and frowned worriedly. What about them? The're to young to fight. She thought.

Blueflower paded over to Stoneheart and Stormfang."Can i join you?"She asked.

Honeyfrost paded over to Snowpaw and Firekit."Snowpaw, were going to do some battle training."She mewed.

Rainkit looked around feeling useless and sad.

  12. Shadowsplash and her kits were no where in camp.

Clawkit yelped as claws raked between his eyes. Any closer and the soft tissue of his pupil might have been torn. The narrow dodge sent him off balance and he fell on his elbow painfully, before jumping up again. Badgerkit let out a excited snarl, her eyes flicking to the dark calico Queen leading the training session. Clawkit knew his sister didn't want to hurt him out of malice. All she wanted was Shadowsplash's approval. He could hardly say the same.

"Clawkit! Attack her! Why are you just standing there letting her scratch you like that?" Shadowsplash completely overlooked her daughter, only interested in the tom who carried her old mate's name.

Clawkit looked at Badgerkit, small and frail. He could easily imagine she was Shadowsplash, how else could he attack his own sister? The broad shouldered tom lunged at the calico she-kit, bowling her over with ease. His claws raked over her softly furred belly and satisfaction came over him as he saw droplets of blood. One day, Shadowsplash! This will be you!

Ravenkit crouched just outside the violent circle. His mother snarled at Clawkit, giving him direction on where to claw and bite. The little black tom scooted back as far as he could, till ferns engulfed him. He thought that now the family had found a new clan, these deadly training sessions might have ended. I guess not.. He looked around, scenting the Oakclan border a half tree length away. Shadowsplash is careful. She knows this territory is vacant, no cat will find us here. Shadowsplash also had a vast knowledge of herbs; well, herbs that would cover up wounds at least. Ravenkit day-dreamed of being a great Oakclan Warrior, respected by his clanmates and earning power among them honestly. The thought eased his mind til he couldn't hear the rip and tear of fur.

"Coldpaw?" Fallenpath mewed into the shadows.

  15. Stoneheart nodded and turned his green gaze on Stormfang and then to Blueflower. "Sure, thanks for offering. We need as much prey as we can get."

"Okay, Honeyfrost," Snowpaw meowed as he whispered something to Firekit before padding over to his mentor.

  16. Coldpaw looked up from where he'd been stalking a sparrow with pricked ears."Fallenpaw?"He mewed in surprise as he stepped throught some bushes and tawards her.

Blueflower noded."Should take Dustpaw with us?"She asked.

Honeyfrost frowned and flicked her tail for him to fallow,as she led the way out of camp and over to the training hallow.

  17. (I guess he won't see him, because if he did, he would probably explode from all the problems that have been happening xD Plus I have an idea for the main plot :3 Is it okay if he scents Coldpaw, and warns Fallenpath that there is a DuskClan cat near by?)

Iceshadow swiveled his ears, temporarily losing Fallenpath as he followed her. That Medicine Cat sure is fast... He thought, wondering which herbs she was collecting. As he raised his nose to the air, trying to scent for her, he heard voices drift through the wind. What? Did Fallenpath already bring someone to help her? Just in case, he slowly made his way through the undergrowth where the young Medicine Cat was.

  18. Stormfang smiled, he wanted to be away from the camp for a little and just go back on a patrol. "Yeah, hopefully with extra paws, we can catch a lot more prey."

  19. Snowpaw bounded after his mentor, taking one last glance at his younger brother before leaving the camp.

Stoneheart nodded. "Until Sparkfire..." He trailed off. "Until he becomes well enough to take out Dustpaw again, I'll have him join any patrol he can."

  20. Blueflower noded and signalled her little brother over."I hope your ready to hunt."She told him.

Dustpaw noded and looked at Stoneheart.

Honeyfrost paded into the hallow and turned to face Snowpaw."Let's start with a practice fight.Attack me but keep your claws sheathed."she mewed, looking at him with her one good eye.
